Somtimes I really wish I lived in New York. One of the reasons would be The Poetry Project at St. Marks Church. On November 8th one of my favorite photographers, Tim Davis, will be reading his poetry. On November 15 one of my favorite critics, Barry Schwabsky, will be reading his poetry.

Sometimes New Yorkers wish you lived here, too! (Here in Brooklyn, we’re all waiting for “Sleeping by the Gowanus.”)

Thanks Lexi. Maybe I should visit Brooklyn. I hear it is popular with artists. Don’t they live downtown anymore? I was hoping to hang out at the Cedar Bar.

I feel like many of my blog postings — mostly the ones about openings and/or really excellent events — tend to end with a little something about how I wished I was living in New York.
You’re not alone, Alec.

There are some readings coming up in honor of what would have been my poetry hero Frank O’Hara’s 80th Birthday. He loved the Cedar, of course, but it’s a shadow of its former self alas.
Come to NY for some poerty and we can raise a glass there at the Cedar in Frank’s honor!

Hey Alec,
Thanks for reminding me of Tim Davis. I’ve been wanting to get My Life in Politics for a little while now. So I went over to Amazon and…….Buy Today with Niagara!
Needless to say it worked out for the both of us.

A bunch of bloggers pretending to be O’Hara and de Kooning. Mighy be a wee pathetic, no? Maybe just coffee at ‘Joe’.
