this is such a wonderful piece of work Alec. your style is so touching and delicate. most photographers, i believe, would make this feel awkward or highfalutin. very nice work – i’m anxious to see it in person.
Thanks Jenny-Lynn. I think the ads are essential to the project. But I felt funny about posting them on the web. I’m not sure they would make sense. Plus, the advertisers need to shell out some more cash before I start promoting their products all over my site.
I actually only knew Gilden’s version of fashion magazine, first from magnuminmotion.com, then from a bookstore, and didn’t know it was an ongoing project. This concept is absolutely delicious and I love how you handled it.
Reminds me of Wim Wenders “Paris, Texas”, in a way.
Alec, you are my favourite photographer, with out a doubt. Your images are beautiful and are everything I want in my own work. Please don’t ever stop shooting. Thank you
The ads you shot are going to be a nice surprise for people when they have the magazine itself in hand.

Woah, I bet you to your own punch (click). Oh and nice choice of accompanying image, by the way.

Any word on whether or not this will be available at Dashwood Books in NYC?
Comment by Sam Logan — July 9, 2007 @ 10:11 pm
Yes, Dashwood should have it in August or so.
