Last night I went to the opening reception for the McKnight Photography Fellowship show the Nash Gallery in Minneapolis. It was so great to see Todd Deutsch’s series Gamers on the walls.

  1. From what I’ve seen online, this series is amazing! Talk about capturing youth culture anno 2006. I remember when I was young(er). There was tough competition to get into the local soccer, handball, badminton, basketball, volleyball and swimming team. Now there just one team left, and theres ahrdly enough players to join the series. The kids are just too busy gaming at LAN parties or online…

  3. Really nice work there. I had this idea of LAN parties for sometime, but I never did it. I will do some kind of gamer portraits now after seeing this. Its amazing too see how many people take pictures now with a lot of black, lot of bright light and shadows. Is it because they all gone digital or did we all get inspired by Philip-Lorca Dicorcia?
