Flat Daddy

I’m still traveling and don’t have much time to post, but I did want to quickly mention the ‘Flat Daddy’ phenomenon. If you haven’t heard about it, these are cardboard cutouts that families are using to replace loved ones that are in Iraq. Perhaps this could be the answer to the traveling photographer dilemma?   1. That blew my mind when I read it the other day! Not so sure thats a great solution but I do know they can make for a great art project. See Reka Reisinger’s Self-portrait series.

Not quite the same, but this puts me in mind of Willy Puchner’s wonderful but slightly demented “Longing of Penguins” project (two quite large fibreglass penguins posed in various tourist spots around the world) — still available as a book on Amazon “Penguins – traveling the world”. Destined to be a “cult classic” …
