  1. My daughter lives in Brooklyn. She was going to a photo exhibit this week. I advised her to read your blog regularly if she wanted a good photography education.

  2. Thanks for the lecture in Chicago! It was well worth it even though I had to stand the whole time because it was the first I’ve been to where things that weren’t entirely a success were discussed (your sheep with a rope->pilot on a phone->portrait series and smallest churchs photos where you were trying to find a connection between photos to form a narrative structure). I learned more from those than I’ve learned from any number of other photos. Being willing to take risks, not being sure of where something is going to lead, and trying again when something isn’t entirely successful is what the creative process is all about. Its the “mistakes” that make the great photos possible.
