Quiz answers

Filed under: quizes & assignments — alecsothblog @ 8:09 am

I’m home from the first leg of a photographic triathlon. While I was gone I posted a Quiz. Readers worked together and came awfully close to solving all twenty-four answers. How did you figure out Nikki Sixx! Unfortunately Ric Ocasek and Tipper Gore proved too difficult:

A. Andy Summers
B. Brendan Fraser
C. Bryan Adams
D. Carmen Electra
E. David Byrne
F. David Lynch
G. Dennis Hopper
H. Graham Nash
I. Gus Van Sant
J. Hedi Slimane
K. Helena Christensen
L. Henry Winkler
M. Jeff Bridges
N. Karl Lagerfeld
O. Kenny Rogers
P. Kyle MacLachlan
Q. Leonard Nimoy
R. Linda McCartney
S. Lou Reed
T. Matthew Modine
U. Nikki Sixx
V. Ric Ocasek
W. Tipper Gore
X. Viggo Mortensen

  1. Congratulations Alec! You win a signed print from each of us.

  2. awesome! i was surprised nobody posted tipper gore, because that was one of the first ones i got. (though i *never* would have gotten hedi slimane on my own.) i saw ocasek listed as a photographer here ( but never went to his personal website… (nikki sixx wasn’t too hard because he was mentioned as a celebrity photographer on several message boards.) great quiz.

  5. I’ve seen some of these in photography books while I was in college, but then minute I looked at this list I knew there was no way I would be able to track them down. I was amazed at how far people got!

  6. Ric Ocasek? How random is that. I still say it’s not a photo (photo-illustration perhaps). And I can’t believe there was no Wim Wenders. Maybe too easy.

I probably never would’ve gotten Slimane either, unless I happened upon him from some Lagerfeld connection. I only found Tipper because I recently watched the Spike Jonze doc about AlGore on utube, and on a lark, looked her up.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I came to Nikki Sixx (and Andy Summers) from this post over on photoSIG about photos by famous people:;jsessionid=aldITaVYw0o88SDn5-?id=226992

I thought you, lexi, would have finished the list. I was stuck on those last two forever.

Nevertheless, thanks, Mr. Soth, for an entertaining waste of time. I never want to visit another celebrity site again. 😉

Now, without further ado, can you please roll out the Chan Marshall gallery (with outtakes)?

P.S. Mr. Soth: how’d you come up with this list, anyway? Some secret fascination of yours? You couldn’t have looked them up just for this. I bet you have a bookmark folder full of these…
